On Sunday, June 26th Barefoot Safari, Liberia's premier tour and logistics operator, hosted their second "Lazy Raft Race" on the St. Paul river. Last November's event had 32 lazy rafters drifting down the St. Paul on inflatable beds for a lazy day of drinking, laughing and lounging. This year, with their newly built barge and additional inner tubes, Barefoot Safari carried 76 participants down the river from Clay Ashmound to the Barefoot Club House, just past the old Anchor Club. Music blasted from the party barge, as partipants danced and floated all day long. The event was sponsored by Cellcom, Club Beer, Stop and Shop Super Market, Trust Enterprise, and Villa Hotel. Barefoot Safari's aim is to promote the positive image of Liberia by sharing nationally and internationally the beautiful wildlife and wilderness that Liberia offers.
