EVENT: SAVE THE ARTS CONCERT

Due to lack of support for the arts, the art form now suffers. Liberian music, fashion, and film have no identity. We do not have a sound, look, or pictorial representation that is uniquely Liberian that can be identified outside of Liberia. We do not properly develop talent, nor do we foster growth in the fields of music, fashion, nor film. Yet, when we turn on our radios and television, we are entertained by various art forms produced by our West African counterparts (i.e. Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, etc.). Sat-Menush Production & Entertainment Company believes it is time for change. We have to light the fire that will again see music, fashion, and film as vital elements for the development of our society.

NEWS: TOP LIBERIAN MUSIC ARTIST F.A WILL BE PERFORMING IN AMSTERDAM!

F.A. isn't R&B's first D.I.Y. phenomenon--just the first so far this century. And though he feels a strong kinship with the singing, songwriting, multi-instrumentalist likes of Stevie Wonder and Prince, the Minneapolis-based, post-soul auteur has way too many fingers in the future to care about following in even the most exalted footsteps.

He also has a better story.FA was born Faquama Anthony Deline in Monrovia, Liberia. Like Emmanuel Jal and M.I.A., Faquama Anthony Deline grew up young and early in the midst of a brutal civil war experiencing life much faster most children, but he always loved music.F.A. first performed in church, singing in choir and learning to play piano, guitar, and drums. Hearing Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, and later on Michael Jackson and Boyz 2 Men sparked the young multi-instrumentalist’s lifelong love for American R&B.

Writing songs couldn’t have come more naturally to him. While grateful for the succession of opportunities to further hone his skills despite the chaos and bloodshed around him, the young artist came to realize that in a country so unrelentingly torn by war, the kind of career he wanted just wasn’t going to happen. After spending two years at a refugee camp in Ghana, Delin arrived in Minneapolis around the turn of the century.

FA has been performing regularly for the last 6 years opening for artists such as Freddie Jackson, KC & JoJo, Chico Debarge, Cherrel, Donnell Jones, Anthony Hamilton, Too Short and Pimp C (RIP) and collaborated with local artists: MC’s Unknown, Uneasy and singers Chantel and Kaylee.FA won Liberian Entertainment Awards Best Artist of the Year in both 2008 and 2009 and was also nominated Best R&B artist by the Liberian Image Awards.

NEWS: LIBERIA'S TOP DJ, DJ BLUE HAS ROCKED SOUTH AFRICA!

Party: DJ Blue Drives The Housemates Wild.

Liberia’s Hot FM number one spin master DJ Blue was nearly unroofing the Big Brother House tonight.
Housemates looked like had nothing to lose as they were shaking their bodies as if there is no tomorrow.  The party  kicked off with a poor attendance but as the sound became wild Housemates were attracted by the magnetic forces in the sound up to the dance floor.

As the music echoed throughout the Big Brother House the Housemates, donned inmasquerade themed outfits, gathered in the garden to take part in their favourite dance - the Azonto.

Liberia’s DJ Blue kept the Upvillers winding, grinding and booty hopping with a selection of the hottest local and international jams. He even played some of Goldie’s music which was met with excited reactions from all of the Housemates. They all revelled in the chance to boogie down to their fellow StarGamer’s jams.
