BUSINESS: CSOP SUMMER YOUTH CAMP

Wednesday August 17, 23 children and 12 counselors embarked upon a 3 day adventure to Camp Promise; a christian youth r camp sponsored by the Cachelle School of Promise (CSOP). The goal was to help young campers grow into healthy, tolerant, and self-confident individuals, capable of living and working with others, in a community setting, while creating lasting relationships with their peers. Camp Promise provided an environment that encouraged children to learn and develop these skills.

The children were divided into 5 groups and assigned a Godly Characteristic (love, joy, peace, respect…etc). Each group of campers researched the assigned Characteristic and presented it in the form of skits, songs, and/or posters and had the opportunity to use other arts and crafts to convey what they had learned. They had a fun filled evening on Thursday night highlighted by a talent show showcasing both their talents and those of their counselors.


As the campers learned about other Characteristics, they were encouraged to contrast these with their own life practices. Camp Promise helped them strengthen their faith and their understanding of the gifts of the Holy spirit.
